  2. Matt in AZ Says:

This “group” is gonna change the US gun industry for sure, whether for good or bad, I can’t say for sure. Beretta has been conglomerating in the past decade and it seem to have brought more affordable products from all of their lines. The biggest concern I have regarding FG is my beloved Remington brand QC has gone to crap in the last five or six years.

    Ahhh, shit.

  4. Weer'd Beard Says:

Will be hard to fuck up Para any more than they already are.

Canadian Kimber if you ask me!

  5. Gay Cynic Says:

Makes sense, in terms of trying to build a “complete” product line.

Things look to be consolidating – may need to focus my next purchases to support smaller and newer companies.

  6. Mr Evilwrench Says:

I have a couple of P12-45s for EDC, both from Canada. That’s what I carry because I like them so much. Of course, those are 10+ years old. This conglomeration thing is disturbing to me, in an “antitrust” way. Freedom Group doesn’t do or make anything, they just buy up companies that do. Something kind of dorky about that.

  7. Tai Says:

Y’know, every time a manufacturer of an item gets big enough, it eventually goes to congress to demand better ‘standards’ for their industry that do nothing but benefit the big guy by making getting into competition harder.

  8. John Smith. Says:

Anti trust? How many pistol manufacturers have they bought that make 1911s? Until they start buying companies that they directly compete against them with similar products then there will be no problems. I was looking at the list of companies they have bought and most have products within a certain genre with little overlap… DPMS for instance while it is a ar clone maker its popularity was its .308 ar. Bushmaster was more of a .223 ar type and ar pistol type of company. If they make no products themselves then then it will be a while before they reach the monopoly point seeing they have to have that overlap problem…

  9. Mike V. Says:

Guess that means Para will move to NY in the future.

  10. Bubblehead Les Says:

Well, looks like the NEP post earlier might have that Compnay going for Charco now that Para’s gone. But what’s Remington going to do with their 1911 now? Stay tuned.

    Follow the money…..Soros.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
