Fees
Discussion of fees awarded to Gura and company. And Gura himself offers this:
The purpose of Section 1988 is to attract qualified counsel to difficult and unpopular civil rights cases by paying market rates. I’d put up our team against anyone else’s — not to mention, our work product and our results. The Post suggests civil rights practice is some lesser relation of the law and only crappy lawyers should be attracted to the field. That view has been emphatically rejected by the courts.
And, of course, people can support his efforts financially, in addition to donating to the Second Amendment Foundation.

If Gura’s case had been in favor of racial preferences for black people, or preferences for women, homosexuals, or illegal aliens the Post would be celebrating Section 1988.

Worth every penny. But now we’ll see how much he’ll get for Mcdonald vs. Chicago, and other pending cases. And they’re ALL worth every penny!
