Layers of editorial oversight

I LOLd. Yeah, it’s pick on the opinionater day!

My body, my choice

Institute for Justice scores a victory and court says one can be compensated for donating bone marrow. Wow, commerce!

Its is called the opinionator and not the factinator

The Paper of Making Up The Record goes to bat for the Obama administration over Fast and Furious. Though I agree that Obama has avoided the gun issue, except for that ‘under the radar’ thing.

As predicted, articles telling the bitter-clingers to calm down, Obama won’t take your guns. Expect more.

And a new one on me: multiple-clip magazine. Layers of editorial oversight!

More on that insurrectionist rhetoric

Sebastian:

people like Bloomberg can end up in positions of such power are one of the reasons I think gun ownership is important.

Indeed. Power hungry nannies like Bloomberg are as good a reason as any.

I dunno, I’m not all that scared of Bloomberg’s army.

More: There you have it, militarization of the police from the mouth of NannyBloomberg himself.

It is pretty frightening. Imagine if, say, Governor Rick Perry made a similar claim and what the press would be doing with that.

Scissors beat paper

But gun beats scissors.

Yeah, different account of the same story mentioned earlier only with less bias and mention of scissors.

Win a LightGuard

CrimsonTrace gives a LightGuard to raise money for Soldiers Angels. I am a fan of mine.

Groupon: anti-NRA?

Odd: Despite the evident demand, Groupon refuses to promote guns or ally with an NRA-endorsed company.

Looks to me more like their anti-gun in an effort to avoid ruffling feathers. Of course, by not selling guns, they’re going to ruffle more feathers. They’ll figure it out.

On 9mm

Weerd has a look. In the event I lived in ban state like Weerd, I’d likely carry 45s too because, well, why not. Of course, I live in a no ban state and mostly carry a 45. Despite thinking about switching.

Old school

Packin’ eighteen rounds of .357 magnum

It’s so not tactical, it’s tactical!

I am de-tacticallizing my long guns

There is no privacy

What media bias? again

It doesn’t matter that a story about guns has nothing to do with Gabrielle Giffords. Just mention her anyway.

Acting at your peril

Reader Bob in Houston asks about states with magazine limitations: Heres a poser, what about the 10 round mags for my .458 SOCOM caliber’d AR? when loaded with the .458 SOCOMs, its a 10 rounder but for a 223/5.56 caliber’d AR, its a 30 rounder? Might all be moot, for all I know the same states have banned .458 as well.

10/22 mags that don’t suck

I’ve been through a few non factory magazines that hold more than 10 and they’ve all managed to go tango uniform. The seams crack, the feed lips pry away, or the spring just stops springing.

Anyone know of any 20+ round magazines for the 10/22 that will hold up?

Update: In comments, folks recommend the Ruger BX25, which has the added advantage of making old man Ruger spin in his grave

Another NFA “Hack”

Draco: a bullpup AK classifed as a pistol? You can see other models here. They note the ATF says: Your new design eliminates the forward handgrip and thus does not facilitate two handed firing as your initial design did.  Therefore FTB finds that an AK pistol mounted in your redesigned stock is intended to be fired with one hand and thus constitutes a "pistol" as defined in the Gun Control Act.
