Wanted to like it
But I just couldn’t do it
So rushed it was dull

What else could they do with a book that has so much freakin’ dialog (make that repetitive lecturing) in it it makes War and Peace seem like a Cliffs Notes. I wanted to like the book too, but ended up tapping to the next page without reading the contents a lot. In comparison the movie is a master work, even though there are two more to go.

    Righties use left brain,
Logic is no good for art,
    Hence, our movies suck.

You could sub music for movies.

Not to get too far into generalities but those who are known best for emotional creations typically lean left, and so wouldn’t be interested in making a movie like Shrugged. And yeah, it is a tough read, so making a great movie is no small task.

The opening in the movie where they were setting up the crisis with the train rolling towards the broken track was outstanding, and left me hoping the whole movie could maintain that level, but it wasn’t so.

I get choked up a bit when I watch that opening. The train rolling through the night kind of symbolizes a desperate hope for the United States.

Found a link to the opening. It doesn’t seem very far fetched.

Yeah, a bit slow but I liked it. I sure hope they get the other 2 parts made. Sure it was too short but I thought the girl did a great job as Dagny. Trouble is, all of us Atlas geeks have pictured ourselves as one character or another, have built Dagny up so far in our minds that the movies will never match our fantasy.

Despite never having finished the book, I really enjoyed the movie. The ending of the just left me wanting more. Your haiku is most enjoyable even though I disagree with its sentiment.

Love the Book, Loved the movie the first time, second time it was meh. A handful of scenes make it totally worth it though, the opening sequence, John meets Midas, The first run, and my personal favorite Wyatt’s Torch.

The dialogue was a bit painful but overall I liked it and I hope the rest of them get made.

Haven’t read or watched either. They’re on the list, but I think I’ve gotten the Cliff’s Notes just from hanging out here.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
