There is a reason most short barreled shotguns do not have a shoulder stock… Its called shotgun discharge a foot from the face…. You better have some serious hearing protection and shooting glasses for this one…
Picture firing that from inside a patrol car.. The concussion would be amazing…
“Police can sling it across their chests while driving.”
So you can’t do that with a Glock 17 and a “Police Dept. Approved” 33 round extended mag on your vest?
Also, something tells me that some of the Female LEOS may not find it too comfortable to carry in that particular method.
You do realize that the official release date is at the end of this year, right? The reason for the early evaluations is so that all the bugs and the flaws can be fixed before the mass release. Consumers shouldn’t be beta-testers.
Having shot Oleg’s KSG I’ll have to pass. Too rough, and the action locked up on some types of ammo. There are plenty of pump guns on the market that don’t jam.
That will always be a problem with the 12 gauge round.
The original round was a cardboard tube with a brass low-wall base. All sorts of oddball variants now exist.
Until it gets replaced with a metal cartridge of fixed dimensions and pressure, random cartridge deformation and feed failures will always be the bane of self-loading shotguns.
@Les – what kinds of rounds tied it up? Are we talking standard defensive ammo here, or some of those weird botique 12 gauge rounds that float around? Because if it won’t run Winchester 00 buck, it’s just a toy.
I’ve seen videos and the sound that the KSG makes when racked makes me cringe, reminds me of a nerf gun. And holy cow how loud would that be in a hallway? Oleg takes some really good photos though.
Caleb: I don’t recall exactly what it was, but I don’t recall it being anything exotic. It wasn’t Dragon’s Breath, Seal Team 6 in a Can, or Flaming Whoop-Ass.
And if anyone is selling Flaming Whoop-Ass in 12 gauge, put me down for a case.

Do want. A better home defense long gun I cannot think of.

But if like Bullpups, have at it.

that’s a hell of an evaluation for a piece of gear that’s been around now for over a year and NO ONE can buy.

The KSG isn’t self-loading. It’s a pumpgun. Pumpguns have no excuse for jamming.

BNF: Sorry, I wasn’t aware that it was a pump action.
Yea, unless the round is seriously oddball, it should just run.
I still think we need a regularized brass or steel shotshell round.
