Typical BATFE, go after mom and pop operations and wear them out over minutia, then orchestrate a felonious gun-running operation to give the Mexican drug cartels adequate firepower to shoot law enforcement and leave the bodies of executed competitors in ditches.

And then go after harmless moonshiners like Popcorn Sutton to send him to prison for making a little corn liquor (he chose suicide, instead).

And the DOJ spends its resources (a) completely stonewalling and obstructing the Congressional investigations into the gun-running scandal, (b) trying to find out what evidence Congress has obtained (to make sure no one at the DOJ and the BATFE perjure themselves when they finally decide to respond to the Congressional requests for information and evidence), and (c) then shutting down a guitar factory in Memphis this week because the DOJ has it on good authority that some of the guitars are made with a protected African wood (ebony, I think).

This is the Federal government at work.

None of the above is mere accusations, it’s all facts.

But how would you like to be an employee of an organization whose retirement obligations to you will either be dramatically reduced (a haircut) or paid with money which doesn’t really equal 100 cents on the dollar because they dilute its real value by simply printing trillions of dollars of paper (i.e. Monopoly) money?

Let’s shut down the ATF and re-assign their agents to the Border Patrol so they can treat illegal aliens like they treat U.S. FFL dealers.

The Federal Gov’t has NO delegated powers to regulate guns anyway EXCEPT among those who are in the service of and EMPLOYED by it. (Article I, Section 8.16) And one of its chief powers among the FEW to which it has been delegated is to “protect the States against invasion” (Article IV, Section 4).

I’ve actually bought a few things from him. The shop is, er, was always fun to go in to because it was such a little room but there were guns everywhere, and if you didn’t see anything you like, he’d run upstairs and bring down another stack of guns in cases. That, and he sold everything for $5 over dealer prices. Hope he can get back in business…

They’re not going to disband the ATF. We have to make it too dangerous for them to exist. The same goes for many other unconstitutional agencies. talk never solved anything like this.

I agree with Ron W, but I would also deploy the personnel of the IRS (it can be scaled back when we have a national sales tax), HUD, Dept of the Interior, Dept of Energy (we don’t have a policy, other than no fossil fuesl), Dept of Education and any other agencies you can think of that I have omitted, to our southern border.

We can give them M-4s (we would want to give the Operation Fast and Furious weapons, though, since they are responsible for them) to let them patrol our border and tell them that their retirement age will be whatever the SSI retirement age is and that they will be subject to means testing, just like the rest of us.

Markie Marxist sez: “Your papers are not in order, Comrade! It’s the land of the free and the home of the brave, but only if your papers are in order! Ha! Ha! Capitalism shut down over clerical errors? Oh my, how could that have happened? Egads! There must be Marxists about! Ha! Ha!”

  7. NAME REDACTED Says:

They aren’t gonna disband the ATF, the last time they tried, the ATF murdered 70 people, this time they may get a bit more creative.

I’m sorry man, but since the Pendleton Civil Service act was passed we are no longer in charge of our own government.

  8. Ron W Says:

    chris,

Thanks. Yes, the IRS would be another agency to eliminate and return to only indirect taxes, excises and imposts as specified in the Constitution.

  9. TIM Says:

Man that guy was moving some guns.Like 4000 a year average.Hope they can ride this storm out and continue on.

  10. Crotalus Says:

What appalling hypocrisy! They have no legitimate authority to do this after they deliberately walked guns across the borders in their attempt to foment more attacks on the 2A.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
