Buy something from J&G Sales

J&G Sales announced they are suing ATF:

As many of you may have heard, the BATFE has sent a demand letter to all the licensed firearms dealers in the four border states of Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Texas. This letter requires these dealers to report to the BATFE the names and addresses and serial numbers of all purchases of more than one semi-automatic rifle, with a detachable magazine, over 22 caliber, within a 5 business day period.

The BATF and Department of Justice has made this demand with no Congressional authorization and therefore, J and G Sales has filed suit in the Washington DC federal court challenging the legitimacy of this new regulation. We are being assisted in this law suit by the NRA as well. We hope the outcome of our challenge will be a reversal of this unconstitutional regulation for all border state FFL dealers. We appreciate our customers and your support of the 2nd amendment and will keep you all updated as this case progresses.

I’m going to order some magazines from them. You should too.

Hmm. I can’t order magazines (stupid MA AWB); perhaps I should dust off the C&R and get a P63?

  2. John Smith. Says:

Sounds like J@G sales is due for a raid….

  3. breda Says:

    too.

  4. Gregory Morris Says:

I order a lot from them.

    I’m gonna order more.

If you have a C&R, they have lots of goodies.

    Good ammo prices too.

  5. armed_partisan Says:

Good for them. I plan on buying some more stuff from them to show my support. I’ve bought several things from them in the past.

  6. John Richardson Says:

Lest we forget, J&G was one of the stores that was pushed to sell guns to straw purchasers under Project Gunwalker.

They were also hung out to dry as the #3 source of guns found in Mexico and traced back to the US according to a story in the Washington Post. I wonder why?

  7. Jake Says:

I wonder how long until they get their FFL yanked.

  8. OHIO SHAWN Says:

I need to stock up on some stuff anyway, guess I’ll buy from them before they are shut down.

  9. guffaw Says:

Let’s hope they are not. I’ve been shopping there for years.

  10. Karrde Says:

Just got a C&R item from them. May go back for more mags and ammo.

  11. Bobby Says:

Just as a note to anyone on the fence, Ive used they for years for multiple purchases. The prices are good, the shipping is swift and so is the customer service. Good place, hope they don’t get too messed with by the gov’t

  12. chris Says:

I used to buy a good bit of ammo from J & G.

    It is a good company.

  13. Eseell Says:

Fuck yeah, J&G Sales! When I was in college in Prescott it was practically a tradition to go to J&Gs and buy your first gun.

  14. PMain Says:

All they need to do is attach a “bullet button” making the rifle have a non detachable magazine & they won;t have to report it. For the uninitiated, the “bullet button” is the item that CA gun owners use allowing them to have the evil “assault weapons”!!!!

It merely locks the mag release & requires a “tool” – tip of a bullet, small screw drivers, etc – to eject the magazine. Takes a minute to install or remove.

  15. Caleb Says:

Crap, i’m going to have to renew my C&R just to buy something random from them.

  16. Tirno Says:

Thinking of the “bullet button” on an AR-15… couldn’t you just do this by screwing the mag release catch in far enough that the mag release button won’t release the magazine when actuated by a finger? That’s just two or three more turns than is necessary for normal operation. Then you have to use something besides a finger to push it in far enough… or just unscrew it a couple turns.

I seem to remember making this mistake on the first AR-15 lower I built.

  17. Beaumont Says:

They just moved into the Top 3 on my list of suppliers.
    I’ll be ordering soon.

  18. treestump Says:

Just ordered another p-64, if nothing else, you can never have too many com block pistols right? c&r is still the best 40 bucks i’ve ever spent

  19. rickn8or Says:

@Caleb– Yeah, I trashed my C&R renewal 2 years ago when I hit the section demanding I provide proof of U.S. Citizenship…

  20. Diomed Says:

Uh, it was kind of confusing, but I think Tech Branch was saying today that bullet buttons don’t get around the detachable magazine requirement in the demand letter.

So I wouldn’t try that if you’re looking to actually comply with the new requirement.

  21. Geodkyt Says:

I’ve been carrying my brand new (to me, but honestly, all I see in terms of wear is blueing worn off by the holster) P64 for two days now. Love it.

Must order Wolff springs, because the 24 tonne DA trigger combined with the butterfly fart SA trigger does not make me Snoopy dance.

  22. FormerFlyer Says:

J&G are good guys. Brad and Brent DeSay took over and have been running a first rate dealership/distributorship from their father Joe, who built it originally, and they’re top notch! Buy from them, support them, they are really, REALLY on our side!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
