Norway Shootings: NRA’s fault.

  1. JP Says:

Of course its the NRA’s fault! It’s always the NRAs fault!

  2. Linoge Says:

The link goes to a syndicated version of Michael Bonomo’s (MikeB302000) weblog – of course it is the NRA’s fault, and of course the post content is idiotic. Those are about the only two constants about that particular hellhole of the cortex.

  3. John Smith. Says:

Wow… Those people really are retarded…

  4. EMP Says:

Four words in (“NRA member Tim McVeigh…”) and I suspected it was JadeGold. A few sentences later I saw “gunloon” and knew it was. Smugly I congratulated my own sleuthing skills and saw the author was… Mikeb????

I think we have to conclude there’s full on symbiosis going on here. One troll is now, right down to catchphrasing, wholly indistinguishable from the other.

  5. Weer'd Beard Says:

EMB all anti-gun activists are Jadegold-type trolls. Just look at the CSGV little flap where they were “outing” and threatening bloggers, and all the people from other anti-rights orgs who were cheering them on, and certainly not making any effort to admonish their behavior.

All anti-gun people are Jadegold, just some hide it better than others.

  6. Jim W Says:

If the NRA has any activity in Norway, why do their gun laws suck so bad?

This guy undertook a decade long plan to earn several million dollars in business ventures so that he could plan and fund a massive terrorist attack.

Any time he ran into a legal barrier to accomplishing his goal, he simply resorted to a self-devised alternative. There is no way to prevent someone this diligent and patient from striking. They are so rare that you will ensnare a million false positives before you catch a legitimate terrorist or even potential terrorist.

  7. PMain Says:

Left a response, waiting for approval. Here it is:

Wow, the NRA is responsible for 2 mass murders that used bombs to kill innocents. How many people did Tim McVeigh shoot again? What exactly would increased gun control do to prevent all of what happened in Norway again? Right, force the murderer to use more bombs. Excellent point.

How about not leaving a large group of children on an island, unprotected? How about arming your police? How about protecting the citizens of your Country? Your response is to accuse the NRA of responsibility. Your focus is solely on the guns, an innocent American organization & not the individuals responsible for their own actions.

What Norway should do is consider why their laws prevented an armed police response; one that took anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Would you find that acceptable here in the US? Answer should be no.

But preventing deaths isn’t the purpose behind most people clambering for more gun control, if so they’d be demanding that cars be banned as well. That Flu shots be mandatory. After all, cars or the flu kill more people than guns in the US.

If passing a law & hindering unalienable Constitutional Rights would work, why haven’t laws against murder or assault worked so far? Surely it is against the law to kill someone in Norway? Funny how those laws didn’t prevent some unhinged murderer from acting out his twisted fantasies, but somehow increased laws will magically prevent further atrocities. Again, excellent point.

Since the laws have no effect on those who’d do innocents harm, wouldn’t they only punish or prohibit lawful citizens? Just be honest, you don’t like guns. You obviously could care less about people dying, they’re deaths are convenient statistics that you use to re-enforce your desired, inconsistent political views… with your sole purpose of punishing innocent, law-abiding people. People who could have made a difference on that island, at Virginia Tech or Columbine High School.

Your disdain isn’t for the murderer or his actions, nor for McViegh’s; instead you use these actions to attack your opponents & make unrelated comparisons to further a view point that sadly has more in common with both McVeigh & Breivik’s actions: destroy the innocent to make the world reflect how you’d prefer it to be.

  8. Cayton Says:

    @PMain
    slow clap

  9. EMP Says:

I get what you’re saying Weerd, but damn. Other antigun bloggers don’t see their personalities subsumed by dedicated shit-flingers.

Let me put it like this: I haven’t read mikeb’s blog, even for entertainment purposes, ever since he gave JG guest author status. The next post I see after that, his writing style is indistinguishable from Jade’s. I don’t know what’s actually inside the gaps of that narrative, but I can’t imagine anything emotionally healthy is going on here.

  10. Chas Says:

The next time that those socialists with their heads up their asses gather their children together, you can be sure that their children will be protected with guns.
Their smugly ignorant ideology killed their own children. If it wasn’t a nutcase, it would have been a jihadi – they left their kids vulnerable to being killed by anyone and everyone who wanted to slaughter them.
Mikeb302000 is obviously a far left loon, whose extreme mischaracterization of the NRA makes it clear that he would ban the NRA and send NRA members to re-education camps if he could.
“Nowegians” – Mikeb30200 can’t spell and he can’t even use a spellchecker, again. Oh well, it’s good to see one’s enemies down to a desperate and incompetent few.
Contrary to Mikeb30200’s assertion that Norway will have more gun control, I predict that they will relax the gun rules, at least for police. That will lead to citizens demanding guns for themselves, since one shouldn’t have to be a cop to be able to defend one’s self. Norway’s smug, self-righteous and foolish, “you don’t need a gun here” attitude now has a lot of holes in it.
It’s not illegal to have one’s head so far up one’s ass as to fail to protect one’s kids and have them die as a result. Maybe it should be.
One parent, with one gun, would have had a chance to stop that killer. However, the number of parents allowed to have a gun there was set, by law, at zero. The kids were given zero chance. Zero is not adequate.

  11. Reloader Says:

I guess spoons are the cause of fat people, too.

  12. Bubblehead Les Says:

Interesting. So NRA Membership means I’m a Murderer? Wonder what a Lawyer would say to this piece of Slander and Libel? Anybody want to take this piece of crap to court? I would, but I’m too poor to afford an attorney.

  13. Kristopher Says:

MikeB is a US felon living in Italy.

He is pretty much out of reach for US lawsuits.

  14. Sean D Sorrentino Says:

There’s a little flag at the bottom of the article that allows you to report insulting and abusive posts. It might also allow you to point out that the author of the post is not MikeB, but Jadegold.

    I’m just sayin’

  15. kaveman Says:

This is not mikeb’s post…it is word for word jadegold on mikeb’s blog.

  16. Mike V Says:

Blaming the gun and the NRA is like blaming the car and AAA for drunk driving deaths.

  17. Kevin Highland Says:

I wish I had realized that was mikeb’s blog before I clicked on it I wouldn’t have given him the webhit.

  18. 45er Says:

I am now dumber for linking to that page. Thank you for that.

  19. blounttruth Says:

I am amazed that anyone would pay attention to these eco terrorists. If we are lumping all in one then why not flip the script and call them what they are, pacifists eco terrorists which are the number 1 threat on the FBI’s domestic terror list.

The entire premise that Norway needs stricter gun laws is absurd, it is for this very reason no one put this nut bag down on a slab well before police arrived., yet the left still doesn’t get it…

  20. Braden Lynch Says:

If memory serves, McVeigh was animated by the massacre at Waco. Gun-grabbing by the government was apparently a motivation as well, but seems that it was just one additional grievance. Also, since he chose a truck bomb, and not firearms, I’d say blaming the NRA is pathetic.

As noted, the HUGE difference that MikeB overlooked is that a single firearm on that island could have ended it.

Gun control = dead innocents (so, I will never excuse or forgive them for their evil/insane philosophy).

  21. Tam Says:

I’m curious: Do y’all argue with the crazy guy on the street corner, too?

  22. Ron W Says:

“Also, since he (McVeigh) chose a truck bomb, and not firearms, I’d say blaming the NRA is pathetic.”–Braden Lynch

Yes! And they used McVeigh as the poster boy to demonize “right-wing”,”NRA” , patriot, constitutionlists, etc. people. A truck composed of fertilizer and fuel oil is a low yield bomb, not capabel of taking down a steel reenforced concrete builing. Local media was reporting the day of the OKC bombing, that there were still bombs plural INSIDE the building waiting to be removed or defused before resucrers could get in. But that all went away when teh controlled national media reported in the days following. McVeigh had INSIDE help. Who was vilified and who benefitted from that bombing??

  23. The Duck Says:

As to facts the count was 168, not over 300 as article states

  24. chris Says:

Well it can’t be Norway’s fault for having an island full of children with inadequate (and possibly no armed guards or cops) security to protect them.

  25. Tam Says:

    Ron W,

A truck composed of fertilizer and fuel oil is a low yield bomb, not capabel[sic] of taking down a steel reenforced[sic] concrete builing[sic].

ANFO truck bombs take down reinforced concrete buildings all the time.

Local media was reporting the day of the OKC bombing, that there were still bombs plural INSIDE the building waiting to be removed or defused before resucrers[sic] could get in.

Local media knows as much about that as they do the shoulder thing that goes up.

    Remember, Ron: Shiny side out.

  26. Ron W Says:

“ANFO truck bombs take down reinforced concrete buildings all the time.”

    ???

“Local media knows as much about that as they do the shoulder thing that goes up.”

Oh that’s right, only the feds and the big national MSM knew what really went down.

    And Tam ,

    Who benefitted?

“Remember, President Clinton reconnected through Oklahoma, right?” said Penn. “And the president right now seems removed. It wasn’t until that speech [after the bombing] that [Clinton] really clicked with the American public. Obama needs a similar defining moment.” –Mark Penn, former Clintonite

Former senior advisor to President Bill Clinton Robert Shapiro echoed similar rhetoric when he wrote in the Financial Times that only an OKC bombing or 9/11 style event could provide Obama with the opportunity to demonstrate that he is a strong leader.

    Ok…

  27. Ron W Says:

    Here ya go, Tam:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMrYeMTXifc&feature=related

Of course, this wasn’t true cause the Clinton Adminsitration, Atty Gen.Janet Reno and the national media didn’t report it?? Whatever they say happened and whatever they don’t say, didn’t happen?

Now that’s a real “conspiracy theory”.

Go back to sleep, America, your government and the MSM has it all under CONTROL

  28. Tam Says:

    Ron W,

Oh that’s right, only the feds and the big national MSM knew what really went down.

No, they’re as clueless, if not moreso, than local media.

Look, sport, how come when your local station dicks up a weather forecast or calls an SKS a n “assault machine gun”, it’s because they’re incompetent morons, but when you need them to prop up your favorite goofball conspiracy theory, they’re suddenly infallible?

Ron, I have forgotten more about OKC conspiracy theories than you will ever know, and they’re still bullshit.

Peddle that “go back to sleep” bullshit to your circle joikin’ buddies at InfoWars.

  29. Ron W Says:

    Tam,

What’s the evidence that the local media was in error in its reporting? Oh, they once had wrong weather forecast??? and of course, the national MSM always makes sure to use “assault weapons” corrrectly.

    What intellectual refutations!!

BTW, I suppose “Fast and Furious” was perped by yet, “another lone nut” or the ATF agents blowing the whistle (not reported) are wearing their tin foils upside down?

Oh well, whatever MSM reports or doesn’t report. And if “The One” says it’s so, it’s so…..LOL

  30. Bubblehead Les Says:

Nut Job with a Gun, Nut Job with a Bomb, Nut Job with a Blog, Nut Job as Former House Speaker, any common threads here?

  31. Linoge Says:

    Nut jobs in the comments…

  32. SPQR Says:

    Bravo Tam.

  33. Ron W Says:

“A truth’s initial commotion is directly proportional to how deeply the lie was believed. It wasn’t the world being round that agitated people, but that the world wasn’t flat. When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.” -Dresden James
