Not yours

Hillary Clinton asks: Whose side are you on?

I remember when dissent was the highest form of patriotism. Of course, that was also a time when democrats opposed unilateral wars in oil producing countries.

This response is perfect.

“Whose side am I on? I’m on the side of fuck you, bitch.”

    Warmongering witch.

Wow that will go down as a classic… I wish we had politicians who had the balls to say that to Hillarys face on national television… Ken had better be careful or he might have an ami reacting like that….

And I remember when we were told to support the President, 100%, no matter what he does, or we were treasonous anti-American traitors to our country who supported dictators.

Of course, it wasn’t “Democrats” who opposed unilateral wars in oil producing countries, it was liberals. The Democratic establishment largely went along with the whole thing—Hillary Clinton, for example, voted to authorize the Iraq war, so she’s not being inconsistent here (just wrong).

Still, it’s heartwarming to see conservatives’ new-found concern for constitutional war powers. Liberals have been complaining about executive usurpation of war powers since at least the 1960s. For many years now the War Powers Resolution has never been followed to the letter, and Congress only complains about it when is politically advantageous for members to do so.

Part of my argument against all the Republicans and conservatives who supported power grabs of the Bush administration was that they weren’t think past the moment’s politics; what happens, I asked, when a Democratic president is in office? Will you still support all this shit? My suspicion was that they wouldn’t, and that has been borne out.

The main difference between liberals and conservatives in regards to this whole role reversal thing is that most of the liberals and prominent lefty blogs that criticized Bush in this regard are also criticizing Obama for it. Liberals are far more consistent and critical of their own team than conservatives are. Hell, Pat Buchanan had to start his own damn magazine because there was a such a dearth of vocal, consistent conservatives who opposed the [very unconservative] Iraq war. It was virtually impossible to find any significant (or insignificant, for that matter) conservative or Republican who was willing to speak out against anything the Bush administration did (except, for some reason, the Harriet Miers nomination and the Dubai ports deal).

Conservatives for the most part circled the wagons, and defended the administration in everything it did, even when it did things that they’ve NEVER support if a president with a D after his/her name did the same thing.

“Whose side am I on? I’m on the side of the Constitution, limited government, limited executive power to kill people, limited executive power to put our armed forces at risk, and the rule of law.”

That’s IS a great response. I wish conservatives had been speaking like that in 2002 and 2003, we’d probably have averted the Iraq war, and this country would almost surely be in a much better position right now if they’d had the balls to do so.

    I’ve asked that many times.

I wish conservatives had been speaking like that in 2002 and 2003

    Amen to that.

this woman couldn,t make her husband keep his zipper up as gov. or as president. who gives a shit what she thinks and who was the idiot who put her in office

  7. Guav Says:

I see, so when a man cheats on his wife, it’s the fault of the wife for not “making him keep his zipper up,” even though they presumably do not know the man is cheating in the first place.

Stupid women, always making us or letting us cheat.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
