The idea that Melson, who was merely acting director of ATF, ran a large, international, multi-agency operation for nearly two year, without telling his boss, has no credibility.
Melson may be on his way out, but it’s Holder’s head that has to roll for this too.
Even if Holder can cling to the claim that he didn’t know, it’s still gross incompetence on his part because he should have known. I can’t see how anyone would have confidence in him after he let this happen.
Thousands of guns sent directly to criminals and countless people killed as a result? That sounds like lawsuits, possibly even naming Obama, and there’s no taking the Fifth in a civil suit. What did he know and when did he know it? Mr. President just might have to testify to that under oath, when he’s named in wrongful death suits, to determine his liability.

I’d prefer the entire ATF be tossed under the bus. Any department that will classify a shoestring as a machine gun has no business being in business.

As the ruling elites are fond of saying in support of gun control, “guns may fall into the wrong hands”. Yes, their’s–and then they hand them over to the enemy. That’s “giving aid and comfort to the enemy” which is defined as “treason” according to Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution. And the motive was to concoct a pretext to assault “the right of the people” in the 2nd Amendment! This is a particularly treacherous treason for which ALL responsible should be prosecuted, tried and given the prescribed penalty for treason.
