Scary UN gun proposals

While their recurring wish list of gun control proposals does contain some scary stuff, the likelihood of the US agreeing to any of it is so small that I’m not that concerned.

The US does not have a good record of signing even the most seemingly worthwhile international accord or treaty, so I’m not too worried. We’re not talking land mines or torture here; I’m talking international agreements to prevent young children from becoming prostitutes, the Basel Convention on hazardous waste disposal, etc etc. The US of A has a great track record of pushing for international agreements, or at least supporting them in word as they move forward and then not signing them when they are done. And we wonder why the world hates us?

  2. Weer'd Beard Says:

Not to mention the UN doesn’t seem to be able to agree to stop a genocide, what makes you think even if this all goes well they’ll manage to accomplish anything?

I guess there COULD be a first time for anything.

  3. John Smith. Says:

Yeah I am sure just because the UN makes it against the law it no longer happens… Most of the UN laws contain a large part of wording that is unconstitutional… The treaties the US advocates are ones that work with US laws… Try to envision and understand that.

  4. Rivrdog Says:

Unfortunately, all y’all miss the reality. Obama and the socialist one-worlders have people on staff hired to dream up schemes to make UN hegemony over the US Constitution happen. Those staffers are supported in their misguided zeal by a few Federal judges who believe that such one-world government is possible and CAN exist alongside the US Constitution.

In other words, these judges believe that with judicial fiat, they can just delete certain pesky parts of our guiding document, and substitute various points of international law in place of the Constitution. The proof? Easy, just look at the calls from CAIR for Sharia Law in certain cases and places, and the opinions offered which say it can be done.

Yes, kiddies, there IS a danger here, but by keeping a united stance on not allowing the FIRST UN edict to supersede our Constitution, we may continue to prevail.

BTW, in case you haven’t guessed, the big target for those UN one-worlders is our Second Amendment, and we all know why.

It’s the ratchet, if Teleprompter Messiah signs it will the next guy/gal repeal it? I know who might, but I don’t know which Republican might…

  6. Bubblehead Les Says:

All it takes is for the U.S. to Abstain during any U.N. vote, and then Barry will say we HAVE to abide by the U.N.

  7. John Smith. Says:

The reason none of these half wit politicians will sign such a stupid UN pledge even if they agree with it is simple self preservation… You start unilaterally stripping americans of their rights in an outright manner and they will rear up against you violently… The only way to effectively strip rights is to do so slowly over a period of many years… Much like the frogs in the boiling pot…

  8. Ian Argent Says:

It takes a supermajority of the Senate to ratify a treaty. We were one vote from a supermajority of the Senate to force nationwide reciprocity with a worse Senate.

There are better things to worry about.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
