In the name of terrorism
When people think about terrorism, they tend to envision bombs, hostages and hijackings. But the future of terrorism increasingly belongs to the humble gun. From Frankfurt to Mumbai and beyond, terrorists are making the gun their primary weapon of choice.
Nowhere is this threat more troubling than here in the United States. In the decade since the Sept. 11 attacks, 17 Americans have been killed by reasonably clear-cut cases of homegrown Islamist terrorism. Every one of those deaths was caused by a gun. And if Al Qaeda has its way, there will be many more.
It’s a push for restricting sales to those on watch lists. Because that will help.

So the Anti-Gunners New Line of Attack is to just put EVERYONE on a Watch List, just to Prevent the IslamoFascists (who would cut Joan Peterson’s and Sarah Brady’s and Patty Murray’s and Diane Finestein’s Throats if they had the chance) from getting Firearms? Sounds like it would work just like all the Laws on the books that say Felons, and Mental Defectives, and the 17 year Columbine Kids, and Medical Marijuana and others who can’t have a Firearm have worked.

This is, in my mind, worse than the Lautenberg Amendment. That, at least, requires some sort of conviction before stripping your rights away. This only requires a bureaucrat’s say-so.

Round it off to two a year, and just in the small city across the river from me there are probably more gang killings. And as many deaths in bathtubs. Nationally? Oh come now… Sure, it is a problem. So was the ice in the parking lot, on which I slipped with a broken arm resulting. Let`s make it illegal to have ice in our cities! For the children, who may choke on the ice in their summer lemonade!

Yet, in Israel, the terrorists abandoned guns damn quick, when they found out that Israelis shoot back. Everywhere else, the good guys are disarmed to protect the government, er…*ahem* the people, so the terrrorists can use guns with impunity. Duh!
