flipside wallet

A review of an interesting wallet. Personally, I carry a Dopp Regatta with no complaints.

I just attach mine to my AR 😀

I checked out the Dopp at the Amazon link. They listed the following as features

    Large magnetic money clip
    2 credit card clots

Is this true, does the wallet have a way to stop you bleeding money via your credit cards?

“Magnetic money”? Isn’t the copper all zincy now?

How well does that magnetic clip interact with credit card black-strips? Back in the floppy-disk days, I ran a pretty big computer room, and a walk-through would wipe a bank card clean as fast as they could encode them.

I’m an Allen Edmonds fan. 80-something bucks, you need a new one every 15 years, and made in that country with the three capital letters.

I’ve had the same kind of problem, but otherwise I swipe the things out fast enough without magnets in proximity. The high coercivity ones are less sensitive, though, but still, no way. The only money we’ve ever had in the US that was magnetic were the 1943 pennies.

Now, a faraday cage wallet to shield the credit cards with RFID (paywave or whatever they call it) may be in order.

Well, the good news is that the Flipside is magnetless and RFID-proof (at least insofar as I have tested it and they claim). That said, it is definitely not your grandfather’s wallet, so it takes some getting used to :).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
