Heading north

Where coke becomes pop. And the weather sucks.

For the NRA Annual Meeting. Light blogging while I do last minute things.

And, remember, if you’re coming, there will be a little meetup tonight. Details here.

  1. Mad Saint Jack Says:

The weather down south has been kind of brutal.

  2. SayUncle Says:

Yeah, it just missed us. By literally about three miles.

  3. Jeff the Baptist Says:

I’m pretty sure Pittsburgh is in the “soda” region of the US.

  4. Kevin Baker Says:

Have a good time! See you in Knoxville in a month!

  5. Bubblehead Les Says:

    Leaving in an Hour!

  6. The Comedian Says:

    Uncle is right.

Pittsburgh is far enough west to be in the “pop” dominant portion of PA.

Wish i could make it up. Its closer to me than Charlotte was, but it looks like my wife’s car troubles (which mean’s my lack of a car while her’s is in the shop) and my son’s birthday party on Saturday will stand in the way.

  8. Molon Labe Says:

Don’t forget “Yins.” As in “Where yins goin’?” Or, “What are yins doing?”

In PA, anything west of State College has some pretty funky dialect.

  9. cybrus Says:

Unfortunately, Pittsburgh is definitely in the “pop” belt. Oh well, they can’t be expected to do EVERYTHING right.

  10. Kasper Says:

Coke or pop…are y’all referring to a “cole
    drank”?

  11. Matthew Carberry Says:

If you hear someone order a “tonic” something has gone horribly wrong. Point yourself West and run like hell, and may G-d have mercy on your soul.

  12. Jeff the Baptist Says:

I sit corrected. I had thought the soda belt extended west into parts of Ohio. Guess it’s my insular SE PA upbringing.

  13. Shootin' Buddy Says:

Cheer up, Unc. At least everyone will be wearing shoes, breathing through the nose, not the mouth, and have clear shirts with collars instead of gravy-stained t-shirts with NASCAR numbers on them.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
