Open carry

Bills in Florida and Texas.

Robert:

If fire dept inspectors and every other LEO in civilian clothes can go armed to the terror of the public, why not citizens?

Here is the thing about the “terror of the public” thingy….

Once open carry is the law, anyone who gets into a panic and calls the cops over someone open carrying should be brought up on charges. Filing a false police report at the very least. You cant go call 911 and create a 3 alarm fire frenzy over someone burning leaves in their yard, so it should not be any different with regards to legal open carry. (and the examples you could correlate it to are endless)

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Does Texas have a “terror of the public” statute???

Gee, does that mean if I can legally Open Carry, then I can become a Legal Terrorist like the TSA Goons? Wait until I bring that 12 Gauge pump into Breda’s Library with my Bare Arms showing! Somehow, I think I’m falling behind on getting on enough Databases and Watch Lists to jam up the System. Being a Legal Terrorist would help me. Hate to be thought of as a Slacker…

Thanks for the link. I wondered what the heck was going on with my hit counter! Where we eat lunch we see folks all the time packing a pistol on their belt with a little badge next to it. Just make a badge for concealed carry folks. Simple.

Gunmart has the most salient point of all these OMG we are scaring the sissies comments that have been bandied about lately. When the government gets to the point that the response to someone calling 911 and saying; “there’s a man with a gun here” is along the lines of; “And?” or “call us back when a law is being broken”, then we will have won. As long as the right to carry is conditioned on other peoples approval said right will be infringed upon.

Here in Texas the concealed carry on campus people are a little concerned this may hamper their efforts if it gets passed first, so there is some hope that the campus carry will be focused on first and that this will be waited on.
Not that they don’t support this, just that they feel it will temporarily make it more difficult to get the campus carry bill through and that is a bit more important in the greater scheme of things.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
