Even more ALL GLOCK ALL THE TIME

The NYT poops its pants over the Glock.

Also: Law-enforcement agencies, including the NYPD, should boycott gun manufacturers who produce high-capacity magazines like the one used to shoot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 19 others, a top city official said yesterday.

Meanwhile, SI gives you the skinny on the Glock.

“If Glock will not stop selling these magazines to consumers, then the New York City Police Department should start buying the firearms they need from a different company,”

That made me smile. How would Glock choose? A few thousand NYC cops, or a few million Americans?

  2. Newbius Says:

I think it would be a fabulous idea for all LE agencies to boycott manufacturers of high-capacity arms. I also think that they should boycott all NFA Class 2 and Class 3 weapons. Make them go back to revolvers and quit the arms race with the American people…

I, however, intend to keep all of my high-capacity weapons. 🙂

  3. Cemetery's Gun Blob Says:

Hey Unc, I can’t carry here in NJ, but the article does mention that since a Glock 19 is 1/2 shorter then a regular Glock, it’s easier to conceal. Learn something everyday.

  4. Bobby Says:

Easier to conceal, and has a hi cap mag! 😀

  5. Matt Groom Says:

    +1 Newbius

  6. Blake Says:

I think the problem is that Glocks are too reliable. We should ban reliable guns and issue everyone 1911s instead.

  7. M4Finny Says:

Actually, my 1911 runs just fine. What’s with all of the hate? LOL!

  8. Chas Says:

Even better: Law-enforcement agencies, including the NYPD, should boycott gun manufacturers who produce guns that shoot bullets. Why stop with magazines? Go all the way! Let NYPD buy their guns from NERF.

  9. Ian Argent Says:

Think we could convince Glock to follow the policies of Barret?

  10. Blake Says:

M4Finny: I had a moment of weakness and decided to troll for some 1911 fans. 🙂

  11. Gunmart Says:

You know, with all this hoopla over the 31 rd “Clip”…. truth be known, if he did not have such a huge mag that he was trying to reload with, then that woman probably would not have been able to get her hand on it and then eventually take it away from him. Lets not forget that a standard size mag would have fit the shooters hand pretty nicely and would not have left much of anything for someone else to grab onto.

Bottom line here is that if he had a standard size mag he would have reloaded without problems and would have been up and running again and killing more people.

  12. **** Says:

This will probably boost Glock sales.

  13. Drake Says:

NYPD is but a speck on the ass of the American firearm buying public. Damn idiot New Yorkers always think they carry more clout.

  14. HL Says:

Man, all that is missing is the tagline “The Preferred Weapon of Drug Dealers and other Criminals”.

    Its 1994 all over again.

  15. Ash Says:

Where is the ‘poop’ in the NYT article on the Glock? I thought it was somewhat factual. I didn’t see any typical bloopers about clips and full auto.

  16. IllTemperedCur Says:

When I think of the New York Times in regards to truth, I can’t help think of the Trotskyite commie Mary McCarthy’s infamous criticism of the Stalinist commie Lillian Hellman.

“every word [Hellman] writes is a lie, including ‘and’ and ‘the'”

  17. John Smith. Says:

That is a pretty cool pic of the glock…

  18. mikee Says:

The New York Times, reliably and predictably printing PSH over GLOCK handguns since, well, since GLOCK started selling handguns, about 30 years ago.

  19. Pete Says:

NYT even screws up a simple infographic and shows Wyoming as may issue.

  20. Jim S. Says:

Very True. Pete, are you from around this area?

  21. Andrew Says:

Maybe all gun manufacturers should do to the NYPD what ronnie barrett did to the state of CA. Ban sales of their weapons to their police force.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
