Gun Porn
At Cracked.com. Doesn’t matter if it makes you safer. It matters that it makes some busybody feel like they’re doing something.
By all means, this election should be a royal ass-stomping and Democrats should lose. A lot. You know it’s bad when Obama is pandering to the Daily Show and Ryan Seacrest. And Democrats losing is rarely a bad thing. What I worry about is the royal screwing over we the people are going to get by the lame-duck losers.
Brace yourself.
In case it comes up.
For Halloween, the grandparents gave the kids some nice little holiday cards. And they put some money in them.
For my birthday Friday, the kids made a me a couple of cards. It’s always fun to hear their explanations for why they put a certain sticker or doodle on the card. And they always make me smile. A bit after giving me the cards they made, Junior comes walking up to me later with her hands behind her back. She pulls out something from behind her back and hands it to me. It’s the card that the grandparents gave her. Except that she’s scratched out her name and wrote my name there, addressing it to me. And in the card is the $20 she got from the grandparents, which she said that it was the best present ever. I had to agree. She gave me what was the most important thing to her that day. I kinda teared up a little.
I told her I had my eye on a new DS game so maybe she could go with me and we’d spend my money on that. She said it was a good idea then gave me a coupon for a free ice cream, another gift she values immensely.
Later, me and the wife had a good laugh about it, she pointed out that the grandparents only gave the kids $10 each. So Junior had taken her brothers money and given it to me too.
Still, it’s the thought that counts.
The Paper of Making Up The Record laments the sorry state of gun control. They’re upset that, by law, there’s no database of gun owners. And they blame congress’ obstructionism for that and that there’s no ATF director.
It’s illegal to take guns to a school:
A small number of Fairfax County students said they had brought a handgun to school in the past year, according to a survey co-sponsored by the county government and the school board.
A Bangor police officer says he wasn’t allowed to cast his ballot when an election warden refused to let him vote while wearing his service revolver.
You know, I hate when those annoying Jehova’s Witnesses knock on my door too. But don’t point a gun at them. Turning the sprinklers on is much better and less likely to get you arrested.
Some signs from the Stewart/Colbert rally. Doesn’t look like all of them followed the don’t be crazy rules. But some of those are funny. My favorite is 67.
And this weekend, I caught the Jon Stewart interview with Obama. Good to see Obama is still blaming Bush. Funny to see that people are still buying it. Stewart’s questions were mostly about what leftist pipe dream Obama hadn’t accomplished (like why the healthcare bill wasn’t, basically, socialized medicine). That is, asking why we’re not further left yet and how that is disappointing. Not that I expected Stewart to ask any questions with a right-leaning slant but a few moderate ones would have been good.
Looked like Obama’s last attempt to rally the youth vote prior to the elections.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
