Castle Doctrine

PA governor vetoes it.

the Governor says that it endangers the public to employ force when there is the possibility of retreat. I assume that this will be the policy of the Governor’s security detail? If the governor is attacked, will he set the example, and retreat? Or will his detail use their “only ones” powers to shoot and kill the attacker?

I think it’s interesting. “As keepers of the public trust, we have the solemn duty to protect our citizenry, not put them in harm’s way, and to protect the sanctity of human life.” Except it’s been decided time and time again that public officials do NOT have the duty to protect the citizenry as he states. This effectively says “Sucks to be you. Bodyguards, take him away and kill him if he even looks at me wrong.”

  3. Bram Says:

He should be stripped of his protection detail or forced to pay for it out of his salary.

  4. Tango Says:

And that detail must follow the laws on the books for the average subjects. Retreat.

    Governor of PA supports bullying

A much simpler and accurate headline for denying citizens the right to remain where they may lawfully be and continue what they may lawfully do in the face of someone willing to unlawfully use violence to interfere.

    Not surprising from a Obamabot.

  8. Bubblehead Les Says:

Ain’t he a Lame Duck? Guess he’s keeping up his Anti-Gun creds when he heads to Washington to take a staff job at the White House or some Commie think tank or talking head gig.

  9. Bryan S. Says:

he’s following the same playbook that kept him in charge of Philly all these years, and kept him a high ranking party official.

Our next gov is in favor of the bill, but only if you take out the provision that allows you to stand your ground outside of your home. Rumor has it that it took this long to get passed because the R’s in state congress had wanted Corbett to get the bill and sign it, so they could get full credit.
