Chicago: Ezell update

Chicago decided to play some dirty pool and get the case reassigned as a delaying tactic. And Gura tried to get a temporary restraining order, with no luck. I’m not a lawyer so that’s my limited understanding. More from Sebastian.

TRO is intended to maintain the status quo on an emergency basis. Until a hearing on a preliminary or permanent injunction can be had. It’s disfavored because it essentially denies due process to the defendant. (Think of the ten-day, ex parte, domestic violence orders of protection.) The plaintiff has a very heavy burden.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
