Carry near Obama

The guy who was charged with Going armed to the terror of the public for carrying somewhere near Obama has had that charge dropped. He was convicted of violating a city ordinance on possesion of a weapon on city property, and possesion of a siren by someone not in law enforcement or emergency services.

    Brown also ordered McVey’s Springfield XD handgun destroyed after the appeals period has passed. McVey has 10 days to appeal the verdict, which would set up a trial before a jury in Superior Court.

    WTF?

    They can order someone’s personal property destroyed simply for possessing it on city property? For a misdemeanor?

    How about “WTF? They can say it’s illegal to own a SIREN?!?!?!”

    I checked. It’s only illegal if it’s installed on a vehicle. NC general Statute 20-125.
