Makes me want to not get a dog.

Not because I don’t want to see my dog get shot, but because I don’t want to go to prison for killing a cop. Some dude pulls out a gun and starts blasting for no reason, I’m going to assume he’s off his rocker and coming for me next.

Based on what I read this morning, they’re reopening the case.

  3. Flighterdoc Says:

I hope they’re reopening the case. The fed wasn’t acting in the line of duty, why should that asshole get any special treatment? I hope they do reopen the case, there seems to be no justification for this use of force. Clearly the cop isn’t mentally qualified to carry tin or steel.

And if he had pulled a gun on my Sibe, Angel, I’d be the one facing charges…Some psycho (not in uniform) pulls a gun? I don’t fing think so…..

BTW, Angel is my second Sibe, my last dog, Boomer, was a German Sheppard. I know how dogs play (hint: If their tails and ears are up, they’re playing)…….

My dog cannot shoot back but I sure can.

  5. JKB Says:

What is needed here is a lawsuit. Perhaps she wouldn’t win but there’d be a nice big record of unnecessary use of a firearm in a public place. That’d be useful when this feddie kills a human.

Also, it seems to me, that someone should develop a doggie survival course where the dogs are taught to run, hide and generally evade police on sight.

  6. Some Guy Says:

Federal Protective Service aren’t police. They’re security guards.

I personally get a kick out of seeing those clowns blasting through red lights in heavy traffic with their lights on. The west door of the Ronald Reagan building is unlocked, and I have to get back from Five Guys quick, because they absolutely…must…have…my…keyring…right now!

Here’s a hypothetical. You’re a responsible law abiding citizen and you’re carrying concealed.

You’re at a dog park having a nice day with your dog and family when all of a sudden some crazy jackass pulls a gun in a public place and shoots your dog in front of you.

Now, we don’t know all the details, and the guy hasn’t necessarily pointed his gun at any people. But I’m also assuming he hasn’t identified himself as LE. I do think you could easily argue that you were at that point in fear of your life and for those around you.

It may not be likely, but then again we don’t expect to have our dogs shot at a dog park either. I’m just saying I could see this sort of situation going horribly wrong for the jackass cop some time, and I’m not sure it would be wrong.

  8. The Packetman Says:

Jason, I believe your hypothetical is spot on.

  9. Rabbit Says:

I’ve always had a differing hierarchy when it comes to dogs. I tend to place them above the majority of humans in status. I’ve punched a guy who took a kick at a dog. Wasn’t even my dog. I’ve gotten effin’ primeval when someone slapped at one of mine.

Some guy shoots mine, and he’s forfeit.

‘Scuse me. I need to walk away and unclench several things for awhile.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
