Metrogun

Not at all metrosexual.

32 inch barrel extension that reduces muzzle blast and noise of a shotgun. It is, apparently, also not classified as a silencer per ATF.

Reminds me of the barrel of my meat hunting uncle’s 8 Ga single shot. Swinging that was a thrill. I probably weighed 90 pounds at the time, and the gun weighed about 25.

I could see there would never be a problem with follow though – because there was no way I could stop the thing from swinging.

The Uncle offered to pour – 6 drams as I remember – of FFg behind a dipper of lead but I declined the offer. In his prime Uncle outweighed me by 250 pounds or so and I figured it took every bit of him to sop up the recoil.

Looks a but unwieldy for my tastes, all the forward weight has to throw you off.
    I like the idea though.

Yeah, it’s not a silencer until later they decide it is a silencer, like the GSG.

    Droid I can HAZ!!!

Why isn’t this filed under “Obviously Compensating…” or is that just too darn long of a barrel to go there?

  6. Freiheit Says:

Mikee – Well there was an article earlier about a TSA worker going nuts over jokes about small genetalia and Uncle didn’t want to risk getting clobbered right before the weekend started.

I wish people would make low powered, pistol caliber, centerfire rifles with really long barrels for the same reason. The only thing close is .22s, and even those don’t have barrels as long as they used to.

Borrowed one of these to call crows and shoot them. It works, but it really throws off your swing. Not worth it. Good to know though.

Something also good to know- shooting suppressed with sonic, (regular) ammo….takes a few feet for the bullet to stack up enough air in front to make the sonic CRACK. So you can shoot up close with a suppressor and normal ammo without extra noise. Try it at the range. Shoot at the dirt ten feet away, then walk it out until you start to hear the crack. Good fact to have in your toolbox. You might need to make a shot up close some time without waking……the neighbors.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
