Add to my list

Of people that can just fuck right off, The Tennessean spews:

One hundred, sixty-eight people, killed when a truck bomb blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Six hundred others injured. Their “mistake” was to be working for or having business with the United States government.

That was 15 years ago Monday. Only a week ago, tea party members and conservative legislators were buzzing about the idea of establishing a “militia” to defend Oklahoma against federal tyranny.

Bomber Timothy McVeigh no doubt would have smiled at the idea.

Got that? Tea party = Timothy McVeigh.

And 17 years ago, 67 people were burned to death in a church. Their “mistake” was believing in God differently than the people running the United States Government. But, no one at the Tennessean wants to talk about that.

  2. wizardpc Says:

    Phelps,

They want to talk about it, but not in the way you think. They view the Davidians as the aggressors in that confrontation. The editorial makes that clear.

This is just what Bill Clinton said, nothing new here.

Interestingly there are still video clips of OKC local TV news reporting that bombs, that’s plural, were in still in the building to be defused and removed. All of that was deleted from the official story afterward.

Bill Clinton actually admitted after the fact, that the OKC bombing was a big factor in his re-election in 1996. He also warned against listening to “patriot” radio broadcasts on shortwave and other “right wing” broadcasters. So when he said that, I went and got a short wave radio and have been availing myself of information and opinion other than the pablum from the controlled corporate media.

And hey, I thought that the left-wing pundits and papers like the Tennessean said we shouldn’t indulge in “guilt by association” by linking Obama to his freiend and supporter, unrepentant, domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers. I suppose it’s OK now…15 years after a a couple of guys, acting all by themselves, supposedly took down a steel re-enforced concrete building with a low yield fertilizer bomb parked OUTSIDE.

  6. Lyle Says:

    “Tea party = Timothy McVeigh.”
By that logic then, Left leaning = Charles Manson, Jim Jones, Ted Kazinski, et al. That’s a far bigger list. Read “Liberal Fascism” to find out much, much more.

  7. Mike Says:

Ignore it and carry on. Nearly everyone knows it’s hyperbole only designed to piss you and me off. The tea party movement is way too popular for such attacks to stick.

  8. ATL Says:

    Instructions for handling the Tennessean:

    1. Ignore

    2. wipe

    3. flush.

God will take care of the rest.

Well said Uncle, I don’t always agree with you but you do call it like it is.

  10. straightarrow Says:

uh, no he doesn’t, but he does always call it like he sees it. Honest man, not always right, but holds his opinions honestly. Can’t ask much more than that.

I remember seeing a news story in the late 90’s, I think it was on 60 minutes or 20/20, or one of those types of shows, where the reporter was talking about OKC and presented some unusual facts. I never again saw or read another word about it.

    The allegations:
There were 3 federal bomb squads in OKC that morning.
Some Federal Agents were told not to come to work that morning.
Cops were seen evacuating the area an hour before the bomb went off.

There were other things in the report as well.
Does anyone else remember that story?

  12. Ron W Says:

    divemedic,
Yes! I heard and read those reports which were quickly have since been expunged from the mass media.

Here is a video which has local OKC TV on April 19, 1995 reporting a “succession of explosions” and “bombs” that still had to be difussed and removed from the Federal building:

(the TV reports begin at about the 1:10 mark of this video clip)

In the aftermath, all the talking points immediately pointed to “ring wing” and “patriot” groups, that is, “guilt by association” which, in 2008, we were instructed NOT to apply to presidential candidate, Barack Obama.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
