Gun Porn
Man robs shoe store with a large rock. This would never happen if more people were allowed to carry concealed paper
Heh.
Noted that Cheaper Than Dirt joined the ranks of STI and Barrett Rifles by pulling out of California. They won’t sell ammo there anymore since Cali passed their ridiculous ammo ban. Now, I agree with the sentiment of not selling to Cali .gov agencies. However, is it really helping the cause to not sell your gunny wares to civilians? Discuss.
I tend to think we want to grow the gun culture there. I met a bunch of the Cali gun nuts at GBR4. And they are some of the most passionate people when it comes to their rights as I have ever met. David, Derek, Molly, and DirtCrashr and others do a lot for the pro-gun side.
If you’d told someone in the ’50s that the toilet of the future would be weaker-flushing and just plain flimsier than the ones they already had, would they have believed you?
Via Tam.
I was pondering getting a new F150. But then decided that I don’t really haul that much stuff other than me and a couple of kids. So, I figure I’ll just keep my current truck and get a car. The rules:
Something kinda sporty
Four door
new or slightly used
I refuse to spend more than $35K on a car.
Nothing from GM, Chrysler, etc. I will not support companies that took government bailout money. Pity because I really the looks of the Dodge Magnum and Challenger.
Decent gas mileage.
FBI Reports Huge Decrease In Murders As Firearm, Ammunition And “Large” Magazine Sales Soar
Last week, the FBI issued its preliminary 2009 crime report, showing that the number of murders in the first half of 2009 decreased 10 percent compared to the first half of 2008. If the trend holds for the remainder of 2009, it will be the single greatest one-year decrease in the number of murders since at least 1960, the earliest year for which national data are available through the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Also, the per capita murder rate for 2009 will be 51 percent lower than the all-time high recorded in 1991, and it will be the lowest rate since 1963—a 46-year low. Final figures for 2009 will be released by the FBI next year.
According to gun control supporter dogma—“more guns means more crime”—the number of privately owned firearms must have decreased 10 percent in 2009. To the contrary, however, the number rose between 1.5 and 2 percent, to an all-time high. For the better part of the last 15 months, firearms, ammunition, and “large” ammunition magazines have been sold in what appear to be record quantities. And, the firearms that were most commonly purchased in 2009 are those that gun control supporters most want to be banned—AR-15s, similar semi-automatic rifles, and handguns designed for defense. The National Shooting Sports Foundation already estimates record ammunition sales in 2009, dominated by .223 Remington, 7.62x39mm, 9mm and other calibers widely favored for defensive purposes.
The ban on assault weapons is modeled after similar laws in North Carolina and Georgia and would carry a minimum fine of $10,000 and ten years behind bars.
Except GA and NC don’t have one of those.
I’ve said before how I love conspiracy theories because they are good entertainment. here’s 33 conspiracies that are actually true. Well, presuming you can trust a source called New World Order Report that tells us that the New World Order is real.
Oh sure. We can’t have those evil companies receiving pay for services and then not providing it. I’ve known two people who tried to claim their actual legitimate unclaimed property and they couldn’t get it because of the documentation require. One person didn’t have a copy of a utility bill from 1974. And after some arbitrary amount of time, this money goes to the state. I would not be surprised to see other states go after prepaid phone cards, just like DC.
He posts most frequently on guns. He’s built a readership based on that, and now has the freedom to write about pretty much whatever he wants to, as long as he uses the term ‘gun porn’ at least every other day.
A bill to limit access to the handgun carry permit database. I wonder why? Better pass it soon before the pro-gun guys realize the database makes a good mailing list. Like happened here in TN.
Wayne LaPierre in the other biased Washington paper:
The Second Amendment faces a decisive year in 2010. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. has called for new semi-automatic gun bans – despite their decade-long record of fraud and failure, and despite his own Justice Department’s failure to fully or even half-heartedly prosecute federal firearm felonies.
I’m with Joe: nice sentiment. But limited practical value. Even if it passed, it wouldn’t stand up to any sort of court review.
The ‘buzz’ is that there’s a new Ruger in time for shot. Just like every year. My guess (and I am one for one) is 1911. The reason is that it’s been rumored for a while. And Mas Ayoob has said so. Twice.
Everyone is making an AR and everyone is making a 1911.
The man who drew the cartoon of Muhammad with the bomb in his turban that outraged a bunch of folks was attacked in a case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome. Fortunately, a police officer’s bullet put an end to his attack.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
