What you wear

A meme started by Marko and picked up on by Jay is what’s in your pockets. Well, here’s what’s in mine:

Clockwise from top left:

DOPP Regatta Magnetic Money Clip and Card Holder. I used to carry a decent wallet but it became uncomfortable. So, I went thin.

A Leatherman Skeletool, which I highly recommend.

KelTec P3AT with Crimson Trace Lasergrip. Both highly recommended as well.

Extra magazine.

My Droid, which I also happen to love and, apparently, can’t stop talking about.

And a Crimson Trace pocket holster made by Galco.

I pretty much carry that stuff every day. Can carry it all in just about any clothing I choose to wear.

I’ve been looking at a Skeletool Uncle, probably one of the CX versions. I need a serrated blade.

  2. Rob Says:

    I love my Droid too.

  3. Pete Says:

How’s the P3AT treating you? I’m interested in picking one up for me and for when the girlfriend takes her NRA concealed carry class. Thoughts on the LCP or TCP?

  4. SayUncle Says:

I dig it. Holding up nice after near four years of pocket carry. LCP is a heavier and prettier keltec. never handled the tcp.

  5. FerosFerio Says:

Ha! That looks familier. ‘cept mine is an LCP and the CX version of the skeletool. Great kit. And like you said, this is the stuff I can carry anywhere, in pretty much anything short of swim trunks.

  6. John Says:

I have a wallet, cell phone, keys, chapstick, pen, and flash drive.

  7. Blake Says:

What ammo are you using in the Keltec?

  8. nk Says:

    What I carry.

  9. GuardDuck Says:

Thought I’d add my stuff as well.

  10. M4Finny Says:

I’m curious. Why the +1 on the Skeletool? Can you employ it as quickly as a folder for use in weapons retention?

  11. WestBellevueDad Says:

Ok, I’ll at my daily carry.

Stiff double-thick leather belt. (good belt makes all the difference)

    Spyderco Endura left pocket
Left hip: spare mag, Surefire 6P, Leatherman
    Left cargo pocket: Wallet

Right Hip: Glock 19 in BladeTech IWB
    Right cargo pocket: money clip
    Right pocket: Spyderco Endura
Right front pocket, strapped to belt w/ dummy cord: spare house & truck key

It all balances out nicely. And, this is on 5.11 pants or shorts, summer or winter.

It’s been my daily carry loadout for 10+ years.

  12. The Duck Says:

    Added mine, but my BUG is bigger ;=}

  13. Ian Argent Says:

Skeletool has one-thumb opening. Mine’s a tad tight, and the belt-clip is badly misplaced for rapid deployment, IMHO; but it is one-handed opening; and somewhat easier to explain “carrying for lawful purposes” (which is how the local law is written on the subject of edged steel).

Since I generally carry it in the strong-side pocket in my SeV retained by the flap magnets, the belt clip issue is irrevelant for me.

I thought Leatherman was anti-gun? I have a Gerber Guppy on order. My money clip is a Ken Onion Chive, and my carry light is a Surefire E2DL, backed by a tiny AAA-cell LED light.

Carry piece? Not allowed in my current jurisdiction, but for out of state, pocket carry is a S&W 342PD with a HKS speedloader and/or Bianchi Speedstrip as appropriate.

Belt carry depends, but my G27 is on one of my CCW permits.

    Lately…

Walther PPS (Speer GD124+p DeSantis pocket holster)
    OLight (3v 185 lumen)
    Cop Tool (Wilson/Boker)
    Leatherman Micra
    Cell
    Flash Drive
    Small Bic

In summer, S & W .38 snub w/ belly band with shorts. Cop Tool is sometimes replaced by some odd folder or fixed blade, depending on dress. OLight is more emergency, if I’m out at night I use a Cabela’s 2AA w/Cree bulb.

  16. Dan A Says:

D’oh! Left out pepperspray, little ASP baton dispenser looks like a kubaton. (Debating switching; bigger can or Kimber unit.) And I keep a fob of paracord on the Cop Tool.
