Quote of the Day

Rivrdog on caliber choice:

the gun you have with you will either save your life or not, depending mostly on how much you practice with it, and leastly on how big it is or how tactical it is.

And as long as you don’t run out of bullets before you run out of bad guys.

Good point. My everyday carry is a Kel-Tec P-11, which holds 11 in the mag and one in the pipe, and I ALWAYS carry a full second magazine on the belt with another 11.

If 23 rounds won’t get me out of my defense situation, I need more help than a bigger gun could give me, I need a relief expeditionary force.

BTW, that duty mag has Golden Sabers in it, and the pipe has one PMC Starfire bonded HP. I am 100% sure that the Golden Sabers will always feed & chamber, and the Starfire is as close as you get to a one-shot stop with a 9mm.

The second mag has NATO 124-gr military ball, just in case I’m fighting a setpiece gunfight through a bad guy’s cover, I want the high penetration, and if I’ve already gone through the first mag, I am definitely in a setpiece gunbattle.

If I know in advance I am going into gangster country, I up the carry armament to my Glock Model 22, with two extra mags. I carry Winchester Ranger in all of those. During that sortie, I will likely have my Kel-Tec Sub-rifle 2000 (.40 S&W, takes the Glock’s mags) in the car with me.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
