Those are cool and all

But why does the FBI need two 20mm suppressed rifles?

I can think of a couple of reasons, but they involve black helicopters and me wearing a tin foil beanie.

I don’t know that many folks with armored killdozers, but I guess they never know when they’ll find one running around out of control.

I do know folks with APCs, AWVs and the like, however.

Maybe it’s the old ‘any money left over at the end of the budget period will not be renewed in the next budget period’ problem. I’d rather they spent it on lapdances, personally.

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

    Who doesn’t need a supressed 20mm rifle?

Alternatively, when you have cool tools like that, you can always find a use for them (for better or for worse)

Articles on the Marines modular ‘Spooky’ and updates to the AC-130 state that the current military 20mm is being phased out. On the one hand, this means a lot of free ammo for FBI’s two rifles. OTOH, this order doesn’t say much for FBI’s in-house gunsmithing operations.

Mike at Anzio builds good stuff. That’s Nick his former machinist holding the rifle in the picture. Nick prefers the Russian 14.5mm round.
Personally, I’m planning to buy a Solothurn 20mm. It’s a semi – and also out-ranges the 20mm that mike builds.

    To assassinate tanks, of course….

They had a long ways to go until they phase out the 20mm Vulcan, it’s in a lot of aircraft still, like the F-16, F-15, F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets, a whole pot full of Phalanx systems, and I’m sure other systems that I over looked.

Yes TC/hanger, it struck as odd when I saw it, at StrategyPage. Loose talk about the 40mm as well, but that was the claim. Marines opted for the 30mm, despite a claim of somewhat less accuracy — and what a Glock-v.-1911 fun thread that will be!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
