Clearly, he doesn’t know politics generally, either. It’s not like there’s a huge precedent for voters flocking to moderates over ideological cranks. Just ask President McCain.

True or not, proves once and for all that voters in New Jersey and Virginia can vote past party affiliation, whereas New York is still fighting Minnesota for whom has the dumber voters.

I think it was the Biden visit that convinced people to vote for Owens.

True or not, proves once and for all that voters in New Jersey and Virginia can vote past party affiliation, whereas New York is still fighting Minnesota for whom has the dumber voters.

We also learned that apparently 6 percent of the people in NY-23 just automatically pull the lever for the R without even bothering to learn anything about the candidates.

Or they were early voters prior to Dede dropping out.

If Hoffman had run and won a traditional primary he probably would’ve won because there wouldn’t have been a bunch of rightwing loons like Ol’ Timey Fred Thompson, douchebag John Rich, and Sarah America coming in trying to make this election about themselves.

SD, the RNC depends on that, as does the DNC (many would say they depend on an even higher percentage than that). NY23 is a hint that the politics of the next year is going to be interesting, at least. Either party will get run over if they expect to play by the old rule book…

…then again, that 6% might just be the seeds of the new improved bigtent moderate liberal GOP? I can hear them today, sitting in front of the CNN on tv, drinking their coffee and reading the newspaper, “well, at least WE stuck by our principles. Now we just need to build on that. We’ll have to dump Newt though; he’s lost his mojo.”
