Narratives

Lou Dobbs says people shot at his house. I’m sure bloggers and news columnists will be out there blaming a political ideology for this one, right?

Two shot in LA synagogue. Still on the loose. Little speculation on this one in the press.

And the FBI killed the leader of a mosque in a raid. While the NYT won’t tell you a lot of things, Moe Lane will.

But let’s make sure we continue demonizing Oath Keepers, who the press will tell you are domestic terrorists despite not terrorizing anyone.

Update: Looks like Dobbs was the victim of a rule four violation.

Re: Lou Dobbs. As noted in the article, a very rural area. Lots of woods, low population. The bullet struck the siding, and fell to the ground, so it was fired from quite a distance. I’m thinking errant hunter or plinker.

  2. Stormy Dragon Says:

Adding to above, October 26 through October 31 is wild turkey season in NJ, where Lou dobbs live.

You are wrong, I think, in your last statement. The Oath Keepers clearly terrorize the left wing press by their very existence. That you would have trusted military and LEOs that take their oath to the Constitutional as a solemn obligation clearly scares the pee out of the reporters.

  4. Ron W Says:

One would think that TRUE “liberals” (in that the word derives from liberty) would be all for oathkeepers who pledge NOT to use force to violate the Constitutional rights of citizens. The reason that is not true is that today’s liberals are actually leftists who support violating the Bill of Rights by hired guns…as long as a good leftist authoritarian regime does it.

  5. Rivrdog Says:

Your number two and three items linked?

Not out of the question, since the mosque in question was a radical, jew-hating place, and the attack in La-La Land might well have been in sympathy, if not on direct orders.

I’ve always speculated that if our home-grown homeboy Muzzies decided to go to war, it would be against obvious Jewish targets first.

  6. Wanda Says:

Why is it that I seem to remember the “Oath Keepers” from way back? To me, it seems this isn’t something new.

Okay, I did a Google News Archive Search and the Oath Keepers are not new. They were around in 1994, 2004, 2005, and now.

So why didn’t they do anything when Dick Cheney was shredding the Constitution? Didn’t the Patriot Act mean anything to them? Freedom of Speech? You know? That thing the Bush administration tried to shove in a corner?

I’m calling them bogus because if you were really going to defend the Constitution, you’d defend all of it — not just the Amendments you like.

  7. SayUncle Says:

Well, they haven’t ‘done anything’ in 2009 either. But the press coverage sure has kicked up.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
