Unlike dogs, Roosters are typically mean as hell. These are not mammals, they’re more like Lizards, and they will fuck each other up if left to their own devices. I personally used to think it’s inhumane to use razor blades in lieu of natural spurs, but a friend of mine told me that the slashes from the razor are often easier to treat and less prone to infection than gashes from spurs (the blades are more sanitary and they slice instead of tearing). Prized fighting cocks are often treated very well, considering they’re just chickens. At least when somebody fights cocks, they usually have the decency to eat the loser.
Anybody who has ever raised any kind of bird knows that you cannot leave them in cages out doors on the ground, because of RATS. I knew a guy who had 14 out of 15 Parakeets eaten by rats over the course of a 5 day vacation. The one that lived? He named him “Survivor”.
