Guns in restaurants

A bit over at WATE on local restaurateurs on the guns in restaurants bill. And notes a few restaurants will be putting up signs saying they don’t want money from the law-abiding:

Patrick Sullivan’s, along with the Crown and Goose in the Old City, tell 6 News they plan to post signs.

you know,it might prove useful to get a group of say 20 people together at these restaurants, call for reservations, and show up, notice the sign, ask to speak to a manager, and tell them that you are sorry but you all will take your business elsewhere.

a couple of times of that happening, and it might get the point across. Especially if everyone is dressed in a very professional, non-threatening manner….

    Good idea.

A Commenter at the linked article also points out that the restaurant might be sued if a permit holder is present when a criminal robs or assaults the patrons, and the permit holder has been prevented from defending him or her self by the restaurant owner.

Also, and it is to laugh, the current law does not exempt police from carrying unless they are responding to a call. No more lunches at any location posted against carrying. Heh heh heh.

A mo-ron with wet panties in the comments says he just doesn’t trust anyone with a gun, not even cops.

I’m not registered there, but if I was, I’d reply that I don’t think he should be trusted with a car – I don’t trust him to know when to mash the gas and when not to. Nor would I trust him around children – he might just go nuts and molest one. He should not be allowed to possess a knife or scissors either.

    Idiots.

    Thanks for the news.

    Ain’t going to these places.

  6. Linoge Says:

Hm. I need to add them to my database, apparently.

These restaurants are going to post signs barring citizens in Tennessee who are exercising their rights as enumerated in the Tennessee Constitution’s Declaration of Rights? So does that mean that establishments can discriminate against and bar other groups of citizens?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
