Guns in city parks

In TN, a bill that eliminates the state ban but allows cities to regulate whether concealed carry is allowed in their parks has passed. In Chattanooga, the mayor is saying that law-abiding citizens will not be allowed to carry in their parks. The poll at that website disagrees with the mayor.

And there is a push already in Memphis to prohibit the law-abiding from carrying in their parks.

    oops.

I guess I shouldn’t carry at Chattanooga Lookout Games either. Well, perhaps I’ll comply, but good luck getting my father in law to comply.

If the Russians and the Koreans and the Vietnamese and the Iranians couldn’t take his gun away from him (and many many many died trying) I doub’t mayor LITTLEfield will manage.

Gov Bredesen should sign this bill. Back when he was Mayor of Nashville I believe, a man unsuccessfully attempted to abduct his wife in a shopping center parking lot. That same man killed a young woman in local park. Perhaps she could have successfully defend herself IF she had the CHOICE to carry the means of armed self-defense. Although the governor’s veto can be overridden with a simple majority vote, it would seem that Gov. Bredesen would recall this incident and be PRO-CHOICE on the RIGHT of armed self-defense.

Let me complete this sentence; And there is a push already in Memphis to prohibit the law-abiding from carrying in their parks, thereby reserving guns for criminals only.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
