Anon, if you really think they considered you a member, try voting for their next president. The few restrictions the We Can Spam Act has don't apply to political advocacy organizations.

If you sign up for their e-mails, they consider you a member. Once I found that out, I had to threaten them under CAN-SPAM to get off the list when un-subscribe requests were ignored...

Reading more of Sarah Brady's crap, I am reminded of something: Back in the mid-to-late '90s sometime, I remember seeing a documentary about the shooting of Ronald Reagan and James Brady. A few frames showed James Brady on the ground with a large metallic object near his head. The picture was too grainy and unfocused to tell, but I am really curious to know: was Brady carrying a firearm when he was shot?
Anyone have any answers for me?

The Brady Campaign/Center has no membership - they're a top down, astroturf organization that solicits contributions, but couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. They'll do your thinking for you; just send in the money - they aren’t a democracy like the NRA.
They aren't "fighting to prevent gun violence"; they're doing everything they can to disarm law-abiding, private citizens and leave them stranded at the mercy of merciless criminals.
Politically, they function as an opportunistic, hit and run, Marxist guerilla-like, front group. The organization should be outlawed as grossly inimical to freedom, contradictory to the Constitution and an insult to the Bill of Rights and the American people.
