How government works

In PA:

City officials warned residents Tuesday to remove items such as upholstered furniture, trash and debris from their porches within 24 hours or face fines.

Like David said, that’s like ordering potential rape victims to wear burkas.

Bad things can happen when the government gets confrontational. Do they really want to risk starting firefights over upholstery? Yes, they do.

    I don’t follow the logic.
But I see nothing wrong with requiring indoor furniture indoors and trash properly stored.

On the other hand, the City of Dearborn, MI, wanted to blight a neighborhood so they could “redevelop” it. So on Dec. 25th and 26th, they had inspectors drive through the neighborhood and fine any home that had put empty boxes or discarded items on their porch or just outside their driveway. (That is, people got a new toy, put the large box outside, got their house labeled as ‘blight’.)

Well it’s much easier to fuck with the people who didn’t do “it”, than oh, say, catch and prosecute the people who did. Hell a guy could get hurt doing that. And they all just want to go home at the end of their shift.

Oh. I get it now. thanks sa.

Have to read the linked article.
Arson spree – the government reaction to arson is to tell people to clear their porches.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
