My bad. Mayor Lite didn’t form new Bureaus. He just gave huge new responsibilities to two previous fluff Bureaus*
*(as in, not necessary to the operation of a City)

Bottom line is the same, though. This new Mayor measures your work directly by your paper output, in pages. To succeed, CYAIP.

Portland, ORs newly-minted Mayor just increased the number of City Bureaus by 2. There had been only five, but now there is a Bureau of Housing and a Bureau of Sustainability for a total of seven.

It’s a trend. Trends can only be stopped by the elimination of trend-setters.

What the hell, several years ago the University of Idaho (Moscow–my home town) hired someone, paid her a very salary, to find ways to squeeze more money from us peons in the community for the Jazz Festival. The U of I Jazz Festival is pretty cool, but it has always, always operated in the red. Still does, even with the money-grubber position, which basically entails visiting local businesses and city offices and explaining that because the university exists in this town, we are all indebted to the university for our very existence, and therefore aren’t paying our fair share. Furthermore, the message is (and they have stated this openly) that in all fairness, the university essentially owns all the businesses in this town anyway, since they provide the reason for being here at all. Otherwise Moscow, Idaho would be a small farming community and not the financial center for the region that it is. Hence, any profits you make here should belong to the University.

This level of arrogance and stupidity no doubt exists throughout all levels of government.

Well, give him a break, he’s so busy not going after our guns, that he couldn’t be bothered to notice that the GAO (Government Accountability Office), you know, already exists…

I think the Secret Service should have given him the code-name “Chum” since his intelligence is on par with most other forms of bait.

for democrats, only motives matter. I wonder if the 600,000 new fed jobs he plans on creating fall into this category, or if their numbers will just add to the master, err messiahs “wonderful” job creation figures.
