First, they spend millions trying to get people to fear guns, then they spend millions dealing with people’s gun fright.

In the UK, Police officers who use firearms are specifically selected for having no interest in or contact with firearms or shooting sports, so it may be the same in Australia.

In other words, they pick the guys that will have no interest in practicing with or mastering their tools of the trade? Seems like they’re setting themselves up for failure.

This is Australia, right? Isn’t there an awful lot of open land where they could shoot all day long? I’d think that for $2 million dollars they could build themselves a pretty nice shooting camp far away from regular civilization where they could fire to their hearts’ content.

I’m also going to predict a vast increase in NDs as the simulator program becomes more prevalent and inevitably takes the place of actual live firing.
