WaPo sticking to it’s story

The Washington Post been one of the perpetuators of the myth that you bitter-clingers have nothing to worry about because Obama really does like the second amendment and has now for like at least 8 months. Nevermind all that stuff he did before, he didn’t mean any of it. So, calm down you dumb, cousin-humping rednecks.

Now, they’re sticking to that story. You see, the economic downturn accounts for all those increases in gun sales. Not that the man who is president-elect has a history of being anti-gun and is nominating anti-gun cabinet members. Nope, economic downturn. All those people are spending that money they don’t have on guns due to that. But at the end, the article points out:

Sales of guns and ammunition are up 8 to 10 percent this year, according to state and federal records, fueled in part by fears that the incoming Democratic administration might tighten restrictions on gun sales. But some new gun owners — crowding instruction classes and local ranges — are also worried about rising crime, according to Nan Sanders, a retiree and shooting instructor from Vienna.

Sanders’s group, Piedmont NRA Instructors, held a class in Chantilly recently on personal protection in the home and had more than a dozen students, about twice as many as usual. There were so many inquiries about a basic pistol class last month, “we had to turn people away,” she said.

Jack, a communications professional, said she will be taking a gun safety class next month. She and her husband, Jay, a Realtor, decided to buy a firearm after a recent conversation around the dining room table. They talked about some of the recent high-profile incidents, of how “unbelievable” it all is, how fast everything is changing, how scary it is not knowing when it will stop or turn around.

Ya know, that probably should have been the opener. I mean, unless you’re like carrying water for the Obama administration or something.

sheesh..your as bad as all the liberals who think that Obama has betrayed them. Is it too much to ask to wait until Obama actually does something before criticizing him for it?

  2. SayUncle Says:

i was criticizing the WaPo. And I’ve criticized Obama for things he’s done in this thing called the past.

We have a manish here at work. It’s like O’Bama was born new the day he was elected and everything he as ever done or said is wiped away. I do not understand how he can hypnotize so many people at once.

Just don’t get it. Never have and never will.

  4. Thibodeaux Says:

I don’t know if it’s increased demand or lack of supply, but have you looked a Cheaper Than Dirt lately? At least half of their ammo skus are out of stock. Ditto Wal-Mart (hey, don’t judge me! I like the savings).

Hmmm, since the future administration has already released a report, based on memory and not sterner stuff like evidence or records, saying he’s not involved with that loyal democrat that everyone has already washed their hands of, I’d have to say that this counts as the first scandal of the Obama administration.

Looks like he beat both Bush and Clinton for number of days from swearing in to the first scandal.

    1. Crime is falling, not rising (at this time when citizen gun ownership is at an all-time high)

    2. NOT ONE of the many, many new customers (those who comprise the very large increase in business in the last few months) have said one word about crime to me. Every one of them who talks at all is talking about the coming anti-gun administration.

    Now you know the truth.

The class attendees are people who have thought about guns in the past, who already understood the wisdom of self-protection, but feel they had best get into it now, before more restrictions are piled on.

I was one of those people during the Bubba administration– I bought a gun because of the Brady Bill, and later took classes so I could carry it concealed or have it reachable in my car– mostly just to avoid legal problems. It had absolutely nothing to do with any “fears” or “concerns” etc. of any “rising crime rate” which was and is non-existent. OK?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
