If I received something like this from any state department in Virginia, I think the only "form" they would receive from me is a photo of my middle finger.

Now that I work for a State Organization, I can see how something illegal like this could happen.

Lots of these people are ignorant and stupid. And many of them are ideologically driven.

(Which makes them likely to 'conveniently be unaware' of the laws they don't like. And there is no liability for not knowing and violating a law. They don't get fired and they don't get prosecuted. And their mistakes are rarely criticized. I can't wait for my 90 day probation period to conclude so I can raise holy hell with this ****ers and file my own grievances with the State Office of Employee Protection.)

(Now that I've had this rant, it has given me an idea. Maybe one way we non-Liberals can regain some semblance of control over our government is to take jobs in it. The pay is decent and the benefits (e.g. retirement) are pretty much guaranteed. Think about it.

Question, could a person use a rented gun at the gun range they take the course at? That would seem to be a simple workaround.

As a matter of fact, I seem to recall that registration is prohibited by law in TN.

If you want to have some fun, call TICS, ask for a supervisor, and tell them you need the S/N from a background check you did earlier in the day. They will freak right the fuck out on the phone. "<em>We're not allowed to record that information! We don't have it! Please gawd don't be an investigative journalist!</em>"
