My wife and I were just discussing this at dinner. It seems like here in Nashville, I’ve noticed an increase in reports of home invasions on the news, I really don’t think they’re just being reported more frequently.
The thing that disturbs me is that more of them seem to be somewhat random. I used to think that the majority of home invasions were done by someone who knew the victim to some extent, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

It turned out that Bonneville CO stands for Bonneville County which is actually in Idaho, not Colorado. Thanks for the correction farmdad, I’ve updated my post with that correction.

Apparently either due to the blog settings ( or more likely my settings ) i cannot comment there so i will here . As a note Bonneville, CO is some county somewhere else from me . I find no Bonneville Colorado in any shape or form . Not to say that home invasions dont happen in Colorado , but they usually wind up like a bad sitcom of the worst of the TX ones since in my rural area its one dope dealer collecting debt from another for the most part . Remember tho that i live in a county that does not have a single stop light , and i likely know your gramma’s madin name if you grew up here .

I can give anecdotal evidence of the increase in Orlando, Fl. An Orange County Sheriff deputy friend of mine related that the invasions and burglaries have moved from the seedier side of town and greatly increased in the supposedly ‘secure’ gated communities throughout the metro Orlando area. I have not real hard data to back up her statement but I trust her word.
