Paste a silhouet of a hawk or owl on the window somewhere, it should take care of the problem. They sell these in most gun shops and even Wallymart sporting goods might have them.

I had a bird that returned for several years to nest in a tree in the yard; he’d spend a couple of weeks defending his territory by attacking the bird that he saw reflected in the bedroom window. He wasn’t entirely stupid, each year he attracted a partner and they raised a nestfull of young successfully each time.

My mother-in-law (born in 1907, and therefore able to remember the other meaning of gay) referred to him as my gay bird.

You need to picture yourself in a Dean Koontz novel. Those carefully-timed thuds are actually a code. The birds are not stupid but hive-mind intelligent, and are trying to warn you of something!

Similar situation went on for about a week at a former job. Bird had a nest in a low tree. Bird would attack the cafeteria window, slide down to the ground, fly back to his nest, lather rinse repeat. We assume he was attacking his reflection.
