Unc, I like being optimistic, too, but numbers don’t lie.

All the little kids in America that would normally get their X-mas presents are still going to get them (unless mommy and daddy have been laid off), but they may be getting a soccer ball and a Barbie instead of an X-Box and a bike. And it shows in the bottom line.

Also, in tight times, one would expect the outlets to be packed. Just like WallyWorld posts bigger numbers when folks are feeling thrifty…

I went shopping on Sat and bought 1 item: a $50 skirt for $8.00! I was overwhelmed by the discounts. I wanted to buy more but with our current financial crisis, I have forced myself to only buy things I need. A friend of mine got all his Christmas shopping done yesterday, so he will not be out shopping for the rest of the year.
