God bless all of them! My dad served in the 11th Airborne Division in New Guinea and the Philippines as a Combat Engineer during WWII. My Uncle was in the Marines during the Korean War, he was at Chosin Reservoir. (”Frozen Chosin”)

I would thank my Dad but he never actually served, just went through the Panama Canal as a Midshipman and the war stopped – and after he left Annapolis he became an anti-war Socialist.

I’m thankful for both my grandfathers, who fought in WW2 hoping that their sacrifice would mean we’d never have to face that menace again. I can’t imagine the fear they had to face.

They’re not here anymore so I can’t thank them personally, but I hope they knew how grateful we were.

I have alreadythanked my Grandfather, who served in a dangerous job in a war in which he was hated for participating.

He served the Army Airborne Rangers in the hills of Vietnam.
