Seems to me that the "Republican" brand name has been under constant attack ever since Gore lost. Slogans like "Bush lied, people died" not only rhyme, they stick in the mind long after they are debunked. (There was no lie, and people die all the time.)

The attacks have been continuous, and basically un-refuted; delivered by the media, the teachers, Hollywood, to such an extent that I can't begin to figure out how to begin to reverse them, let alone counter-attack.

When dealing with used-car salesmen, one expects self-serving lies. We have not yet evolved defenses against journalism and academia.

That is very appropriate since BO lied and kept his funding private while McCain got stuck with all the FEC bureaucracy.

umm..both candidates didn't report their donors under $200 as they are allowed to do as per FEC regulations. Now the RNC did publish their under $200 donors in the middle of the general election online, but not through the FEC. It was Obama that had to deal with the FEC bureaucracy during the general, while McCain simply received a check. Sorry to use facts to derail a perfectly good argument.

McCain had to spend his time shoring up a base he should have already had to begin with. - Uncle

Of course, if McCain hadn't spent his entire time in the Senate sticking daggers in the back of his base...
