Man if I had only helped elect mccain by knocking on a few more doors, or spending more of my cut the govt gives me after it steals all my money, or if I could have raised my right hand toward mccain just a bit higher..i’ll do better the next election. I love playing this game.

This is now to time to prepare. We have the time. Jan.20 will not be the death of the country. It won’t even be the fatal wounding. That will come with the de facto repeal of the BoR and the appointments to the courts that make impossible the return to a republic steeped in liberty. It will come in small increments, but contuinuously.

At some point there will be a “Civilian Security Force” (brownshirts) by that name or another that will start the door to door hunt for free men, armed men, men of different opinion, men of different political bent. The 40 and 8’s will be utilized. That is the day you prepare for now.

If it turns out I am wrong and it doesn’t happen, or the very real prospect of the consequences us “principles freaks” have tried to warn of, dissuades them, nothing is lost by being prepared and nothing is harmed.

Forget despair, unless it just easier and less risky and therefore more attractive than other routes.

I’ve fortunately seen a lot less “not my President!” blather in today’s blog-reading than you have, I guess.

A lot of that might be due to the specific contents (I tend to filter out people who’re prone to that kind of thing, I think, and thus don’t read their blogs).

(I also think people on the Right and libertarians both have a better grasp of civics than the average Leftist.)

Ron W: I think the problem with that plan is that “true conservatism” is not very popular and isn’t going to win a Presidential election anytime soon.

That might not be pleasant for you to contemplate, but I see no reason to believe it to be untrue.

The 2010 election has been mentioned in the comments: In the Senate, 19 Republican (including McCain) versus 14 Democrat seats are up. The party with more seats up usually – not always, but usually – has a net loss. Also, McCain, losing his last crack at the presidency, will be 74 and may call it quits, and Pennsylvania’s Specter, currently with health problems, will be 80.
The Republicans have their work cut out if they’re to prevent the Dems getting in 2010 their 60+ Senate they fell short of this time, let alone gain seats.

Unfortunately he is the president, nay, my president since I’m not a whiny “Bush Derangement Syndrome” liberal. Admitting that does not mean you like him, think he will do a good job, or even respect him as a person. Just do our republic a favor and respect the office and hope someone gets in there in 4 years who’s worthy to hold the office.

It’s not possible for me to hold my elected officials accountable. I’m in a frozen District in California and the Officials are protected by Security in Sacramento. They listen only to their Party and inherit their seats.
We didn’t even participate in the election – the CA electoral votes were already bought, tallied, and thrown into the column on the Left.
But they let me have 10-round magazines…

The Republican Party has been serving up phony conservatives for a while now…Bush I, Dole, BushII, McCain. Bush governs mostly from the treasonous left, things go bad…people react agains wht they think was conservative for more and worse of the same ’cause the media tells them he’s a “conservative”.

Obama is NO CHANGE, just a new face on another globalist puppet to carry out orders from the international banking cartel.
