The Colt, going closed bolt only, with a heatsink and direct impingement gas system - AND heavy? I'm predicting they don't take this one on merit of the rifle, without some major rigging - that's not an accusation, but a possibility.

The General Dynamics looks like an AR180 - lotsa welds. It may rock in practices, but it's a certainly a different manual of arms compared to an M16 variant.

I'm a fan of the LWRC IAR for the application the USMC has proscribed - Mag-fed, not a SAW replacement, but a precision suppressive fire rifle. It operates like an M16, but with Open Bolt capability in full-auto to prevent cookoffs, and no new controls to relearn. In short, you can take point with it, without the worry that it won't go off because of of the decreased reliability of open bolts.

If you want a better rundown on the first two, along with some other cool pics of them, check this thread on Lightfighter:

The mostly-definitive thread on the LWRC is on their site:

You need to register to read threads there but it's a much more informed and in-depth discussion than available at "thefirearmblog".
