"Obama said watch how we use energy? Is it 1976 again?"

Sure looks like it with some of the gas lines around Houston, post-Ike.

There's also been talk of bringing back 55 mph speed limits again.

It's eye opening to read my 1979 World Book Encyclopedia's article on the Petroleum industry, especially Hubbert's peak, and the then projected forcasts past 2000. Pretty de ja vu these days.

I hate to say it but McCain has missed it again, He walks around with that shit eating grin and saying the same ol shit over, over, over, over and over again. I have heard the same talking points so many time, I want to throw up. He needs to get real and pin back those ears (that we are not supposed to talk about) on that pea headed talking suit and say something that needs to be said. Like how can you cut taxes on 95% of the people when 40% do not pay taxes. When Obama says he is going to raise the taxes on people that make over 250K, that is the small business owners, this will cause jobs being done away with. McCain just keeps letting the suit get away with it. If he were to run the country like he runs his campaign, I am not sure we are getting a good deal. It is a shame that of all the people in this country we get stuck with 2 dorks. It is going to be bad in the future but the American people have bought into this crap and maybe fours years of Obama will wake them up like it did after 4 years of Carter. So all I can say is if McCain does not change the way he is running his campaign sit back and hold on, it is going to be a bumpy ride.

And I feel that McCain just misses so many openings that it annoys the hell out of me. These are openings someone like Ron Paul or Fred Thompson would have leapt through in an instant to connect to conservative and independent voters.

Right now he's trying to pick up the middle and bluedog Dems. He got the conservative and independent when Obama says that healthcare is a right (and conservatives say to themselves "and we have to pay for it...")

Obama presents better. He's a lying sack of shit, but he delivers the lies well. McCain makes me cringe 90 percent of the time. His presentation feels wooden and clumsy. He moves like a poorly oiled robot, my friend. Oh yeah and he seems to think that the period at the end of every sentence is pronounced ", my friends." Argh.

Mod: "Health care, is it a right or a privilege?"
Me in car: "It's a commodity! You give money to doctors and they give you health care in return!"
McCain: "I'm going to form a commission of experts to find out how to give away money to people for healthcare."
Me: "FUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!"

Why can't McCain go 5 minutes in front of a camera without reminding us of how much he isn't really a conservative? The proper instincts just aren't there. Watching McCain for signs of economic conservatism is like waiting for a fish to climb up on to the shore and walk around on its fins.

Obama won the debate. McCain had the better answers, but they were mostly logical and appealed to the intellect.

Obama kept trying to instill fear, and definitely was appealing to emotion.

So, even though McCain had more substantive responses,in the minds of the electorate Obama won.

The body language when Obama speaks is very negative. One woman and one man seem favorable. The expression of the other people in the audience is not favorable to Obama.

The body language for McCain is open, respectful, and more neutral. But still not overly positive.

Neither candidate seems to be highly favored. But the people seem to sour when Obama speaks.

The YouTube will be interesting. This is such a small and close range setting I think professional observers Wednesday will observe the audience.

"These two debates have shown how thin the Obama veneer is."

Walmart and BigLots sell lots of furniture to the voting public.

Obama will say anything. How anyone can trust this man is inexplicable. Has any Presidential candidate ever been this inexperienced? These two debates have shown how thin the Obama veneer is.
