Have a friend who almost couldn't count past nine because of it. Yes, absolutely Glocks do NOT force (or even really encourage) you to do something unsafe, but they <i>allow</i> it. Which is why I have 2 XDs that require you to lock the slide back before you pull the trigger as part of the takedown. But the ever-indulgent wife doesn't like the XDs*. She likes the G26. So she has a G26 and I, of course, clean it for her. With just a touch extra paranoia. *Actually, she kind of likes the .45 but it's the 5" Tactical so it's a bit big and heavy for her tiny hands.
