They didn't tuck it into the shoulder and fire it like a rifle. Rather they extend their shooting arm out straight and use the offhand to hold the buttstock. CZ's take is interesting, on the '75 automatic version there's a shoe under the dust cover that the baseplate ont he magazine fits over. Your forward grip is your reload.
