It seems to be a "so far, so good" situation. Anyone hoping for political points from a natural hazard like a hurricane deserves a punch in the junk. I lectured in a natural hazards course on nature and politics and I always point out that there is one thing that a hurricane or an earthquake is not: ironic. Just because we give a hurricane a human name doesn't mean that that the hurricane does anything human. Exactly. It seems to be a “so far, so good” situation.
