The FBI might not lie to help a local cop, but they will certainly lie to get a conviction. Pretty much all law enforcement personnel are professional liars.

Anyone who thinks the FBI would lie to help a local cop doesn’t know the FBI very well. A prevalent attitude in the FBI and DEA is that all local enforcement is wither stupid or corrupt.

Except that this issue comes up a LOT. Why does the FBI decline to record, at least the audio, their interviews when nearly all American police departments videotape their interviews?

Not going all conspiracy theory on anybody but do I need to remind people of those instances where the FBI has been less than clean? Boston anybody? Where the FBI deliberately framed innocent men for murders committed by James “Whitey” Bulger?

Let’s face it. She could have said right from the beginning that Brown shot first. But the FBI agent didn’t record it and is now testifying that she didn’t say that. That can be extremely convenient at times if it’s necessary to discredit a defense witness. And with no audit trail and reliance on the FBI’s reputation, it can work.

scariest 25 minutes of my life were when, after having the audacity to pass a marked car going 15 mph under the posted speed limit, I was followed from Reform, AL about 20 miles to the MS border by no less than 4 police vehicles at 2 in the morning. The lead car was so close to my Saturn’s rear bumper at times that I could not see his headlights.

I was alone, unarmed, and had no cell reception. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, and these cops were WAY out of their jurisdiction. I had no idea what would happen if they tried to pull me over, but whatever it was I knew I was going to lose.

Yes. Those were my first thoughts. But more and more keeps coming out.

You also have an FBI agent who testified that the woman gave a completely different account the day of the shooting. If that deputy was going to come in guns blazing don’t you think he’d have put on his vest and used either of the rifles he had in his trunk or his shotgun? The witness who claimed the deputy made the threats said it happened at a time before he even came on duty. Ever consider that since they’re friends of the defentants they might be lying???

Is **extremely** strange to my mind. Particularly since the “either man’s” is referring to the deceased deputy and ride-along.

Just to play devil’s advocate, I’ll point out that a shot to the back doesn’t always mean foul play. If a guy is taking cover and shooting at me I’ll be damned if I let him gain a tactical advantage over me.

And of course the guy could turn around while I’m emptying the mag. Its possible….but I agree the facts given don’t pass the sniff test.
